Kids love summer vacation because they don’t have to go to school but that can result in something called the summer slide. The summer slide is when a student loses the knowledge of some of the academic stuff they learned in school. A lot of kids and families put school on the back burner during the summer months and relax on the family rules a bit. Summer should definitely be a time to take it easier, but it shouldn’t be a time to forget about school and learning altogether.
