As a native Puerto Rican going to college in the U.S., I speak both Spanish and English. To me, being bilingual is more than just a conversation starter: it allows me to actually connect with more people. There are many benefits to being bilingual, including more opportunities in both the workplace and social settings. Knowing a foreign language can make you a better asset to companies here in the U.S. and abroad. (Some people even think that being bilingual can make you more attractive.).(more)
