RSI families come together for a multicultural dinner celebration

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson The families of the Renascence School International came together on Tuesday, November 20th for a multicultural celebration. Parent volunteers planned and organized the event which included a visit from the Zoomobile from Zoo World! This was a big hit with the students as they got up close and personal with a big lizard, a frog, a hedgehog, a dog and a parrot!  For the dinner, each family brought a dish that represented their cultural heritage or traditions. This resulted in a tasty, diverse array of food from around the globe.  What a wonderful way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday among friends with an international flare!                                                                 ...

What do little fingers, colored paints and creativity make? Turkey t-shirts!

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson Last week, students at the Renascence school Panama City campus were busy preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday.  They were making their own special turkey shirts to wear at the multicultural event that took place on November 20th. Mrs. Sellers and some parent volunteers helped the kids to paint their hands. Painting each finger a different color, the kids created handprints that looked just like turkeys!  This was a lot of fun for the students who then got to show off their handiwork and wear their shirts to the RSIPC multicultural dinner celebration!                                                                 ...

Students craft their own Native American Indian vest

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Level 10 students were learning about the Native American Indians.   A few weeks ago, they crafted their own Native American vest out of a paper bag. This was also a fun way to teach the children about how the Indians made their own clothes. Thank you to Jen Shook, for volunteering to help with this project.  The kids had so much fun!                                           ...

Students sign holiday banner to send to the troops

Outside the Box – Christy Johnson In the spirit of the holidays, the students at the Renascence School International are spreading good cheer to the troops here on American soil and abroad. They are taking part in a project that Darrell and Carol Hertz, locals of Panama City Florida, have put together in order to show  support for our military men and women. This section of the banner will be added to many others forming over 100 feet of holiday greetings, signatures and thank you messages. Once put together, Bay Blueprint, in downtown Panama City, has donated their time and materials to print full-length copies of the banner.  These banners will be sent to our troops in Afghanistan, the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, Tyndall AFB, and the Naval Support Activity in Panama City.                                                                                            ...
