Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

In preparation for Tropical Storm Isaac last week, students at the Renascence School International Panama City were preparing for the worst case scenario by practicing a tornado drill. At the sound of the alarm the students followed their teachers in a single-file line under a covered walkway to the safety of an interior hallway without windows. The school administrator then discussed with the children the purpose for the drill and what to do to remain safe. The students asked questions and then proceeded back safely to their classrooms. Tropical Storm Isaac kept a distance and school remained open. In fact, it turned out to be one of the driest days that Panama City has seen in months!
